Update on Darksiders II Pre-Orders

Today we have the latest pre-order numbers for Darksiders II. The Xbox 360 version of the game added 3,334 additional pre-orders this week, giving it a total of 50,336. With the release of The Witcher 2 the previous week, Darksiders II jumped up one spot from 20th to 19th. On the PS3 front, the game jumped up two spots from 24th to 22nd, leapfrogging over World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. Since it is still outside of the Top 20, we don’t have the hard numbers for the PS3 yet.

These numbers are for the week ending April 21st. The delay of Darksiders II was initially confirmed on April 18th, so this weeks pre-order numbers were not really impacted too much. The 360 version of the game has added 3,000+ pre-orders for two weeks straight now, so it will be interesting to see if it can still come close to that number next week. My guess is that since the game was delayed, the number of additional pre-orders might dip just a bit next week to somewhere close to 2,000.
