It seems that Darksiders II constantly is compared to other action-adventure games that have come before it. The original Darksiders got its fair share of Legend of Zelda and God of War comparisons, but more games are now being added to the list. Since Death is much quicker and more agile than War, Darksiders II has often times been compared to the Prince of Persia franchise. Well today we have another brand new comparison. The folks over at The Bit Bag say that with the added RPG elements drastically change the type of game Darksiders II is and this time they compare it to the recently released Diablo 3.
Developers have said that the only game they want Darksiders II compared to is… the original Darksiders. The other comparisons are nice and they seem flattered by them, but at some point the series gains its own identity. Sure they borrow from Zelda, God of War, Prince of Persia, and Diablo 3, but I think by the time Darksiders II comes and goes, we’ll be talking about a ‘Darksiders’ type game, and potentially would make comparisons to it from other future titles.
