Australia Gets its Own Darksiders II Pre-Order Bundle

It sure seems quite difficult keeping track of every different type of pre-order bundle that is out there. Depending on whether you pre-order the game from Best Buy, Walmart, Gamestop, online at shop.THQ.com, via OnLive, or Steam, or any other possible way to buy the game, you seem to be getting a slightly different pre-order bundle. Well, folks in Australia will be getting their own unique pre-order bundle for Darksiders II.

If you live in Australia and pre-order the Limited Edition through shopTHQ on PC or Xbox 360, you will still receive two DLC packs, as well as an exclusive set of in-game armor and free shipping. However, Season Pass is not available for Australian PS3 owners. So for PS3 owners, they will instead get a bundled copy of Saints Row 2 at no extra cost. The PC download version of the game also includes Metro 2033 as an added freebie.

As if things didn’t get convoluted enough. If you have multiple systems you now have to ask yourself, should you pre-order it for the PS3, 360, or the PC? Should you get the Limited Edition or the Collector’s Edition? Do you pre-order it at Best Buy, Gamestop, Walmart, or another retailer? Do you pre-order it online or at an actual retail store? It seems any combination will get you a slightly different giveaway.

Now I think it’s a good idea to give away a game for PS3 users in Australia who cannot get the free DLC. However, I think it would be a great idea to give options to the gamers. In fact, it might not sound revolutionary here, but why not give away a copy of the original Darksiders as an option? I’m sure there will be plenty of fans who pickup Darksiders II who never played Darksiders before, so that seems to make sense. Saint Row 2 on the other hand is a completely different type of game and I’m not sure there is much correlation between the fan bases. In any case, it’s nice to see THQ not holding back on the freebies.
