Darksiders II has now been available for nearly two weeks here in North America and our first sales numbers are now in. Granted, these come from VGChartz, so the reliability of them isn’t quite there. According to VG Chartz, the Xbox 360 version sold 208,798 copies in its first week, while the PS3 version sold 195,268. The PC version was much further down on the list, but sold nearly 20,000 copies.
According to the global charts, the 360 version was the 2nd most sold game this week, the PS3 version was the 3rd most, and the PC version came in at #38. Even if the hard numbers are off, the comparative numbers are likely more accurate. I think it’s safe to say that this was a fairly successfully launch week for the folks over at THQ. There will obviously be a gigantic drop off in next weeks numbers, but I’m anxious to see if it holds a spot in the Top 10. We’ll have to wait and see.
