The latest pre-order numbers for Darksiders II are now in over at VG Chartz. This week the Xbox 360 version added 10,118 pre-orders, now totaling 109,141, while the PS3 version added 5,108, now totaling 91,441. As usual it’s worth noting that these are only for US Pre-Orders, and also that VG Chartz is not exactly the most reliable of sources.
In any case, there is just one more week remaining as Darksiders II is set to launch on August 14th. I think the Xbox 360 version could jump up a few spots if it has a strong final week, but at this point, it doesn’t really matter. Darksiders II has far surpassed pre-order numbers for the original Darksiders and it has become THQ’s second most pre-ordered game ever. With early reviews of the game all getting exceptional scores, almost all the stars are in line for a major hit. Darksiders II is already a success critically and commercially, and it’s just a matter of time before the fans get to play through it themselves.
