Argul’s Tomb DLC Reviews

With Argul’s Tomb now on the market, reviews are now starting to flow in. Having played and beaten Argul’s Tomb myself, I can give you the basic lowdown. It will take the average gamer a little more than 2-hours to run through the DLC content. It consists of a fairly short dungeon, a really linear third-person shooting sequence similar to what was experienced on Earth, and then a second decent-sized dungeon to top it off.

There are several returning enemies from the main quest, as well as a few new ones that appear. Additionally, there is an overly large mini-boss of sorts, as well as a brand new boss in the form of Frostbane. The dungeon portions involved extensive use of the Voildwalker. Some of the puzzles could be quite tricky and I found myself stuck on a number of occasions, only to find the solution a few moments later. Nothing overly frustrating, but a decent challenge.

So what did the critics have to say about Argul’s Tomb? Go ahead and make the jump to check it out.

The folks over at ZTGD had this to say about the DLC.

Overall, this DLC is around two hours, which is perfectly reasonable for it’s price tag, but that all depends on just how much Darksiders you want. With the main game dropping at least 40-50 hours if you do it all, this extra dungeon doesn’t bring nearly enough unique aspects to make it seem worthy of the cost considering how much you already got. As a bonus for pre-ordering the game though, it fits it purpose nicely, adding more content to an already outstanding package.”

Over at gamrReview, they concluded their review with the following…

Darksider’s II’s first installment of DLC doesn’t try anything too risky. Though its main focus is the dragon Frostbane and extended use of the portal gun, which is undeniably fun, it would have made for a better first impression if something new had been added. As well as that, the DLC only clocks in at roughly 3 hours long, and really I expected more. As it is, Argul’s Tomb is a solid piece of content, it’s just not on par with the rest of the intuitiveness that Darksiders is known to offer, especially if you need to shell out more money to get it.

The same way you got into it in the first place – save, quit, and then go to the DLC part of the game file start menu and select “choose campaign.”
