Darksiders II: 66% Off on Steam and Amazon

Still holding out on picking up Darksiders II? Well over at Steam there is a massive sale on the recently released game, selling at 66% of its original price. Instead of the full $50 price point that it launched at back in August, the game is now available for just $17. Additionally the Prima Games Strategy Guide is available for just $6.80, or you can bundle the two together for $20.40.

If you are interested in getting this for Steam, you’ll have to act fast, as the deal is only good for another day and half. A similar deal is also available on Amazon, where the game is selling for $16.99.

With the present situation over at THQ, the performance of Darksiders II is very important this holiday season. There’s still hope that the reduced prices on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions of the game, along with the upcoming launch of the WiiU version of the game, can drive sales, hopefully reaching the initial bench marks set forth by THQ. Hopefully enough sales could be reached where Darksiders III is warranted. Only time will tell.

Totally missed this, but sadly money is tight at the moment so I think I would of held out just a bit longer anyways.

I understand there is a bottom line, but it makes me sad that publishers are so quick to trash franchises because the first few games were not break out hits. As an Okami fan I can relate.. although Capcom at least seems to understand that even though the value of that series does not directly translate into dollar signs, it has an awesome reputation in the gaming community and are keeping it sort of alive . >:

Someone forgot to mention the terrible customer support by THQ concerning the dlc for Abyssal Forge. The fact that it corrupts saved game files. It causes freezing at save screens. It locks up consoles. It affects the entire game’s smoothness, and has caused certain features to totally vanish. Yet, THQ has chosen silence over fixing the problems for those of us who already paid their $60 + for this game and dlc. Happy Holidays!

November 21st, 2012. It’s 1:50 pm near Chicago. I had no choice but to delete the Darksiders II files from my PS3. I simply could not continue. The Abyssal Forge corrupted the entire game. No other games were affected. It was the dlc, for sure. I paid you people $10 for this. I got nothing in return, but headaches, silence, and now a deleted game. Vigil, you made a beautiful game that sadly was so
poorly managed as far as whatever THQ’s part in it was. It is obvious the dlc was not tested. I can only speculate, as there has been no updates or apologies to the plethora of players and paying customers who bought this dlc. I hope everyone can read this, but i will probably be deleted. If not, people please beware the Abyssal Forge dlc. This is a powerhouse of a game, with a lot of great potential, but the dlc can and likely will corrupt your entire game. There will be no support from THQ. No apologies. No explanation. I shudder to think of this game in the hands of competent people who care about the product’s integrity, and the satisfaction of those who buy it. I now begin again. Argul’s Tomb caused no issues for me. Abyssal Forge, the one we all have to pay for, is poison. Wait until someone addresses the issues it has before buying it. Thanks for your attention. Shame on you, THQ.
