Sweet Darksiders II Artwork: Skyward Sword Tribute

Darksiders-ArtWhen Darksiders II launched for the Nintendo Wii U back in November of last year, the team crafted a tribute art piece around the Darksiders franchise as a tip of the hat to one of their favorite franchises, the Legend of Zelda. The art piece you see to the left is a Darksidres-tribute to the cover artwork of the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

As a Darksiders fan that initially made the jump because of all the Legend of Zelda comparisons, I can really appreciate the awesomeness of such an art piece. I can safely say that the Legend of Zelda and Darksiders are my two favorite franchises and it’s really nice to see that the folks over at Vigil weren’t aren’t afraid to show their colors. Part of the reason Darksiders came together as it did was because of the Legend of Zelda and it’s great to see them pay tribute. Go ahead and make the jump to check out large versions of the Darksiders II and Skyward Sword banners.

I too want to make that jump. Hopefully within the next year I will be able to get a Wii U and enjoy that version of Darksiders 2. And hopefully things turn out well for Vigil’s employees :(…

I hope you’ll be able to find a copy by then. It’s really quite a fun game, a good complement to Zelda that hits a lot of the same sweet spots gameplay-wise, but in different ways. Just don’t go in expecting to be blown away by the game universe if you’re a big fan of Hyrule, and you’ll have your expectations in the right place, I think.

    1. If you want the big N to buy your IP, then don’t do a shitty port.

This is the greatest thing ever.

Do you know what would be awesome? If the people who made Darksiders quit Crytek, and went to Nintendo. Then Nintendo and the Darksiders creators could team up and like, put Death/War in SSB, and make a CANON Zelda/Darksider game. My guess is this will never happen. If it does, it would probably take place in Downfall timeline, as that one seems the most “Post-Apocalyptic” of the 3.
