Basileus is a boss found within Darksiders II, and the final Dead Lord.
Death first meets Basileus right after defeating the second Dead Lord. He mocks Death's skills and says that he wouldn't stand a chance against any of the realm's trials. Death tells him that he defeated the champion of the Gilded Arena, but Basileus tells him that was just a game. He tells Death to prove his strength by going to the Psychameron and clearing all of its trials. After doing so, he appears, causing the boss battle to begin.
The battle arena where Basileus is fought is within a very dark cave where virtually nothing can be seen other than Death and the boss.
Basileus is a very fast and speedy fighter. He often teleports to attacks Death. After taking away about 25% of his HP, he leaps on top of a giant spider known as Achidna. Achidna has a variety of lightning based attacks. In one, it attacks with it's two claws, and in another, it spins multiple times. After taking away half of his HP, Death pulls him off of Achidna, and the fight returns to normal. After Death takes away about 75% of Basileus' HP, he will hop back onto Achidna. Defeating him unlocks the Court of Bones achhivement.
After defeating him, he promises loyalty to Death. Soon, after swearing loyalty, he is killed along with the other two Dead Lords by the King of Bones.
