Enhancement

Enhancements, or Weapons Enhancements, are collectibles found that can be slotted on particular weapons.

Overview

Enhancements have slotted bonuses as well as passive bonuses, while some do not even need to be equipped in order to have an effect. Each enhancement can be slotted on a particular item and this will have an effect when that particular item is used. Passive enhancements effect the overall character and not the particular item where the enhancement is slotted. Often times the passive bonuses are not nearly as strong as the slotted bonuses. Some enhancements have universal effect, regardless of whether they are slotted to an item or not.

Darksiders

There are 12 Enhancements found through the game, 4 of which are Legendary Enhancements. These items are found throughout the various dungeons and within the Destroyed City, often times located within caskets or treasure chests. Some of the enhancements can be purchased directly from Vulgrim. War can slot one item onto his Chaoseater, Scythe, and Tremor Gauntlet.

	Combat Lore	Anvil's Ford Vulgrim's Merchant Shop	This enhancement increases the rate of weapon experience gathered, and boosts War's armor level.
	Hellfire	The Crossroads	Instills a melee weapon with the element of fire.
	Ravager	The Choking Grounds	This enhancement increases War's damage with environmental weapon attacks.
	Reaper	The Hollow	This enhancement boosts the harvest of souls from slain enemies.
	Weapon Master	Vulgrim's Merchant Shop	This enhancements bestows upon you an increased knowledge of weaponry, boosting weapon damage.

Legendary Enhancements

Main article: Legendary Enhancement

There are four Legendary Enhancements, each one named after one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The legendary enhancements are significant improvements over standard enhancements, making some enhancements obsolete once a legendary one with similar qualities has been acquired.
