The Ortho, also known as the Angelic Beast or Angelic Mount, is a large flying creature that Angels use for aerial support.

The Ortho is a large Angelic Beast used as support by Angel forces. It can fly around and shoot energy bolts against enemies.

War acquires an Ortho at the end of The Broken Stair. War rides on the Ortho through the Echo Gorge, a large chasm that needs to be traversed across in order to reach the Twilight Cathedral. While War is controlling Ortho, he can shoot single shots by tapping the right trigger, or larger homing shots by holding the right trigger. When charging shots, War can lock on to several enemies at once.
Once War reaches the Cathedral, the Dusk Queen Tiamat will grab the angelic beast, causing War to fall to the ground, just in front of the Cathedral's entrance. As War progresses through the dungeon, he can see Ortho and Tiamat battling with one another. Tiamat eventually is victorious over Ortho and is seen holding the beast's corpse just before the boss battle.
