[edit] Overview

Uriel was always one of Heaven's most noble warriors. She is persistent and will hold true to her word. It is implied that Uriel had a romantic connection with Abaddon sometime prior to the events of the Apocalypse.

[edit] Darksiders

After Abaddon has been defeated during the Apocalypse, Uriel becomes leader of the Hellguard and seeks vengeance on War, as she believes he is responsible for Abaddon's death. Due to Abaddon's death and Hell's victory during the End War, the portal leading back to Heaven is closed, forcing Uriel and the rest of the Angels to be stranded on Earth. On Earth, Uriel and the Hellguard remain in constant battle with the Demons of Hell, while searching for War.

[edit] Anvil's Ford

When War first arrives at Anvil's Ford, he meets up with Ulthane and the two have a contest in fighting off the Angels. At the conclusion of the contest, War will encounter Uriel and have a battle. After War claims victory, Uriel is carried away by Angel Soldiers.

[edit] The Dry Road

During's War's search for the Armageddon Shards, he will encounter Uriel once again, this time on The Dry Road. The two battle under the Nex Sacramentum, which is a Death Oath that states that one of them must die. After War successfully defeats Uriel, he breaks the oath and does not kill Uriel, despite protests from The Watcher. War will then inform Uriel that Abaddon is The Destroyer, in which Uriel's immediate reaction is that of denial.

After War collects all the Armageddon Shards and takes them back to Ulthane to form the Armageddon Blade, Uriel can be seen resting atop a stone structure in a graveyard, presumably The Choking Grounds.

[edit] Battle with Abaddon

Uriel battles with Abaddon and is defeated. However, Uriel is not killed and Abaddon says that Uriel mistook him for someone else whom she loved.

After War defeats Abaddon, War obtains the Seventh Seal. The Watcher tries to take the seal for himself, but Uriel will intervene. The Watchers will use his powers to keep here away and also gives her some harsh language. Uriel will then grab the Armageddon Blade and stabs War through the chest, fulfilling the Death Oath. Uriel then attacks The Watcher and during the attack, Uriel shatters the Seventh Seal.

With the seventh seal now broken, War is reborn and kills the Watcher. Uriel states that all debts are paid, but if duty calls for War's death, she won't hesitate. Uriel then states that War will be hunted by The White City, the Charred Council, and others. As War begins to walk away, Uriel demands to know if he will fight this war alone, to which War replies that he will not, and three meteors that are the other Horsemen soar down to Earth.

[edit] Darksiders II

Uriel also makes an appearance in Darksiders II. Death will be sent to Earth in order to obtain the Rod of Arafel. As soon as he arrives to Earth he will battle alongside the Hellguard. Soon after that occurs, the Horsemen will encounter the Angel, triggering a side quest. Uriel will inform him that the sacred Rod is not in one piece, instead it is in three. She continues to explain that the fragments of the Rod can be found scattered throughout the surface of the Earth. The Horsemen will first find and collect The Staff of Arafel and The Eye of Arafel. Once he has collected the third piece, the Rod of Arafel will be reforged.
