[edit] Overview

In the Darksiders Universe, War ride on his trust steed Ruin. His primary weapon of choice is his massive sword, known as the Chaoseater. War is a man of honor and highly values justice and the rule of law.

[edit] Darksiders

War is the main protagonist in Darksiders. He first appears on Earth during the Apocalypse. After being wrongly accused of starting the end-war, War returns to Earth 100 years later. He works with the Demon, Samael, to recover the four Hearts of the Chosen in order to create a portal leading to The Black Throne. After fighting with Straga and forging the Armageddon Blade, War will do battle with The Destroyer.

[edit] Apocalypse

Main article: Apocalypse

When the Apocalypse begun, war emerged on Earth, but he was alone, not accompanied by his siblings Death, Fury, and Strife. War fought against Angels, Demons, and even attacking Humans as he made his way through the urban city. He encountered Abaddon and asked him where were his brothers. Abaddon, surprised at War's presence, claims that the Seven Seals have not yet been broken, but War's distraction caused Abaddon to fall victim to the demon Straga. War would then battle Straga himself, taking out an eye. About to deal the finishing blow, War is interrupted by a mysterious call, which saps him of his strength and abilities.

War was taken to The Charred Council where he was accused of prematurely starting the End War and tilting the balance in favor of the forces of Hell. War negotiated with the Council to have him returned to Earth in order to find justice for those that set him up. The Council agrees, but will attach The Watcher to follow War around, and even giving him the power to kill War if he tries disobeying the Council. The Council advises War to seek out the demon Vulgrim, as he will guide a pathway forward.

[edit] Darksiders II

In Darksiders II, War's brother, Death, is on a quest to clear War's name. Early on in his quest, Death will meet up with the Crowfather to learn the truth about what happened to War. However, this eventually leads to Death having to battle with a shadow version of War.

[edit] Bibilical Comparisons

Main article: Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Biblical)

While in almost all biblical interpretations of the Four Horsemen includes War, the War of the Darksiders Universe obviously differs from its counterpart.
